Warped Studio

A women-led knitting brand reclaiming craft and conversation.

Once a vital form of skill-sharing, “gossip” has been reframed by misogyny—much like craft, it’s been dismissed as idle and unimportant. Warped Studio challenges this, celebrating knitting as a space for knowledge, creativity, and connection.

Reimagining fibre arts for a new generation, the brand makes handcrafts feel culturally relevant and engaging, keeping these traditions alive. More than just making, it’s about processing, reclaiming, and building community—one stitch, one story at a time.

The Granny Square Project

📍 Acquired by the UAL Art Collection

A collective blanket stitched together by women across the country, each square a contribution to a wider conversation. Made by grandmothers, mothers, daughters, and friends, it reflects the long-standing tradition of passing down craft as a form of connection. The project transforms knitting from an individual act into a shared experience—one that processes, heals, and unites.
